My Turn

This is Matt and I want to talk about my wonderful wife:

Julia is an amazing person; very joyful, fun, exciting, talented, hard working, smiley, cute, and hot. Yesterday while I was gone at men's priesthood session of conference. She somehow managed to clean the entire house! -  and by house I mean one bedroom apartment. But what's more, I think she did it in about an hour. If I had been the one cleaning it probably would have taken me at least half a day, AND what's more more, she did it right after having worked an 8 hour day at her job. I don't know how she did it, but I was very impressed, happy, and thankful to have her as my wife.

After priesthood we had a little chat with our good friend Jakobe. Julia is fun and inspiring to watch talk to people because she is so sincerely interested in them and their lives. She's incredibly friendly and good at making people feel happy and at home. Even with shy people, like myself, she somehow has a way of making them feel comfortable in a conversation.

To top things off, we went out on a great date. We went to the dollar theatre to see Scott Pilgrim VS the World which turned out to be very fun/funny/creative and we liked it a lot. She was all smiles the whole date and I could see in her eyes how much she loves me.

She's with me now, so I'll go ahead and stop there, but trust me that I could write all night about what a great wife she is.  I love her.
Lots.

Theend.

The Merrill's are Bloggers!

Hello everyone!

We are a little family of two, studying at BYU. Matt's going into Film, and I am earning my degree from the School of Family Life with an emphasis in Human Development, possibly going to to earn my masters in the same thing. We are also both working two jobs right now: Matt works part time from home for a company called Vivid, doing computer stuff, and he also is the videographer for a group at BYU called YServe. I coach for Orem Timpanogos Aquatic Club (OTAC) and work at a swim equipment shop called Poco Loco. We don't have much spare time, but what we do have is always spent together.

The big news right now is that we're working on our applications and (if we're accepted) traveling to India for a semester. We will be doing individual field studies. Matt will be working on a film, and I will be conducting interviews and observations regarding parenting styles and/or education in the culture. We'll be way way North in McLeod Ganj, located in the Himalayan Mountains. This is where the Tibetan Community in Exile is located, and is where the Dalai Lama lives. We'll be there for three months, starting in September, 2011. Nothing is set in stone yet, however. We'll keep you posted as the application process continues.

Other than that, life is pretty swell here in Provo! I'm starting to swim a little again, just a few times a week. My first competition is next month. Matt and I are both working hard in school and both doing well. We'll hopefully be done in just a year and a half!

Well that's all for now, We love you all so much!

Love Julia and Matthew Merrill
